Who is and who is not eligible for this position in the era when the HR companies seem to mess any success recipe?
Most of the Human Resources Head Hunters (some of them I use for my own projects) have invented specialists titles on their own. Especially when we talk about IT positions.
Some of them are selling (or at least are trying) me Software Architects and Software Engineers without any computer science degree… All based on their experience in years accumulated on the job. Job experience is extremely useful and on the other hand the IT academic curricula is something at least as much as important. Otherwise these “specialists” will be called “software craftsman” or “master software craftsman“.
In order to be called “Architect” and “Engineer” you will surely need IEEE certification (Zend Certified Engineer for example) or a proper university degree.
So spare me with the experience of all morons without any results just because your great head hunting company wants to dig deep into my bank accounts.
